After an offer by fertility specialist Naomi Bennett, Addison leaves Seattle Grace Hospital for Los Angeles to work at Oceanside Wellness Group and to start a new life away from her issues and complications at Seattle. Naomi's business partners, Sam Bennett, her ex-husband; psychiatrist Violet Tuner; Cooper Freedman, a pediatrician; and Pete Wilder, an alternative medicine guru, who thinks Addison agreed to work at Oceanside because of a kiss they shared, are all shocked at her arrival. During her first day on the job, Addison's case is one that could make or break her new job at Oceanside.

Cooper hires some entertainment for Sam as a kick-off to his new life as a single guy. However, both Naomi and Addison become jealous when Cooper’s entertainment, Ginger, asks Pete for medical advice. Meanwhile, the Oceanside staff and Ambrose Hospital Chief of Staff Dr. Charlotte King team up to help find the cause of a baby’s bizarre illness.

Addison needs Pete’s help to treat a newlywed couple who are having problems consummating their marriage, despite numerous attempts. Violet tries to convince a patient to leave his wife, despite her own issues in letting her ex go. Meanwhile, Cooper looks into why his patients, four sisters, all have the same mysterious illness.

Addison invites her co-workers to her house for a small get-together, but not one of them RSVPs. Meanwhile, the wife of Violet’s ex-boyfriend arrives at Oceanside for treatment, and Violet is less than thrilled to see her; Cooper helps his latest patient overcome being lovesick; and Sam guests on a talk show to promote his book.

Addison finds it hard to stop thinking about Pete, despite everyone trying to help her focus elsewhere. Meanwhile, Allan, Violet's ex-boyfriend, comes by the clinic much to Cooper's dismay; and Maya, Naomi and Sam's daughter, arrives at the clinic for advise from Addison without her parents knowing.

Charlotte asks Pete for help in treating her insomnia. Meanwhile, Naomi goes out on her first date since college; Cooper worries that his patient’s injuries weren’t actually due to an accident; and Addison and Naomi are asked by a patient to keep her fertility a secret from her husband.

Sam gets called out on a dangerous house call. And back at the practice, Addison and Pete decide to take their relationship to the next level, and Violet and Cooper make a 'friends with benefits' pact.

Cooper receives a surprise when returning to online dating. Addison goes on a date with one of Violet's patients. Naomi and Sam are summoned for a house call at a covenant. Dell takes his midwife classmates on a tour of Oceanside Wellness. Also, Addison and Pete join a Safe Surrender program and give aid to a teenage mother.

Oceanside focuses on fertility and starts a dads-to-be class; Sam and Naomi struggle to figure out where their relationship is heading; Addison is conflicted about her status in the dating world; Cooper begins a secret affair with a colleague.
